At Duke Energy, we show our commitment to stewardship in many ways. We use natural resources and energy efficiently to reduce resource consumption, waste, discharges and emissions. We strive to improve operations, with a focus on preventing environmental and safety incidents and preserving public safety. We also engage in partnerships that enhance public environmental, health and safety awareness and address common EHS issues.
More importantly, we put these words into actions – through land preservation initiatives, wetlands restoration projects, habitat protection and enhancement programs, air emission reduction efforts, and reforestation projects, to name a few. We also partner with others to improve environmental education in the community.
