Duke Energy Scholars Investing in Our Future
The Duke Energy Scholars program was established to provide scholarships for the children of our employees and retirees.The program provides 15 scholarships of up to $5,000 each (USD) per year and may be awarded for up to four consecutive years, with a maximum of $20,000 (USD). The scholarship is for undergraduate study at accredited, two-year technical schools or community colleges and/or four-year colleges or universities in the U.S. and Canada.
The scholarships are merit-based with consideration given to academics, personal references, community service and demonstrated financial need. In addition to the 15 annual winners of the four-year scholarships, we select five (5) alternates to receive one-time, $1,000 (USD) scholarships. If any of the 15 winners declines his/her scholarship prior to the acceptance deadline, alternates become eligible to receive a four-year scholarship.
