Development Planning For a New Subdivision

By following these simple steps Duke Energy makes it easy for you to request electric primary infrastructure for a new subdivision.
  1. Developer contacts Duke Energy about a new subdivision or new phase to be developed.
  2. Duke Energy engineer meets with developer to discuss needs for electric primary infrastructure, services and street light installations.
  3. Duke Energy engineer obtains information from the developer to create the design and initiate the work request. A pre-construction meeting is held with the developer to discuss the final design. The request is scheduled to a construction crew to install the transformers and primary infrastructure cable.
  4. If inside city limits, Duke Energy engineer provides a street lighting design to the developer. The developer takes the design to the City for approval. If outside city limits, developer works directly with Duke Energy.
