Duke Energy offers electric service to approximately 4 million customers in the Carolinas, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, including retail gas service to 515,000 customers in Ohio and Kentucky. Our service area covers approximately 47,000 square miles in the Midwest and Southeast.Our fleet of power plants generates approximately 28,000 megawatts of electricity from a variety of fuel sources—from hydroelectric to coal, oil and natural gas to nuclear.
